Padre Pio is known for a plethora of extremely remarkable miracles, including miraculous healings, instances of bilocation, visions and lucid visits from Jesus and saints, exuding the odor of sanctity, and most famously, his own bearing of the stigmata (wounds of Christ) for fifty years before they utterly disappeared just prior to his death. Padre Pio was also a very gifted and fortuitously prolific theological writer and the most important thing about him is obviously how good he was, how much he loved God and everyone, and how many people he continues to help and inspire around the world today.
